"Go and make disciples..."
Young Leadership Pathway
A common challenge for the young Christian is finding a community that challenges and empowers them to pursue the Great Commission in their everyday life. As believers, we work to live out daily what Jesus commanded of us in His last days, “Go and make disciples…” (Matthew 28:19). San Antonio is currently one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S with a population of over two million! Our vision is to reach lost kids, lead them to Jesus by establishing authentic relationships and disciple lifelong followers of Christ that will continue to duplicate within each community.
How do we do that?
San Antonio Youth for Christ is committed to raising up leaders who are dedicated to advancing the Kingdom of God in our city. We currently have various programs designed to develop and equip leaders to live on mission with their students, volunteers, leaders and local churches to support the vision of Youth for Christ through training as they engage with lost kids and lead with a team of volunteers in their respective sites.

YLP-Resident
Residency Program
Our Residency Program was created to give young leaders the opportunity to reach lost students as they learn to lead as part-time paid missionaries within our organization. Alongside our Leaders in Training (LIT) Program, a Resident is a part of our Young Leadership Pathway (YLP) Program, which is centered on empowering passionate believers in our mission to serve in our middle and high school sites locally.
The Residency Program provides a second-year track for those that complete their first year and feel called to return as a Site Director. Resident I’s are paid staff that work 20-25 hours/week assisting their Site Directors whereas Resident II’s are paid staff working 20-25 hours/week serving as Site Directors. Both will be trained and equipped to both fundraise and lead their team of volunteers and students.

YLP-Resident I
Resident I Program
WHY THE RESIDENT I PROGRAM?
The Resident I Program is designed for mature leaders seeking to pursue a calling in ministry—particularly in missionary work—with youth. Although they may go to college and/or work part-time elsewhere, they’re committing to 20-25 hours/week to serving alongside a team of volunteers and ministering to their students for the duration of the school year. After their residency is completed, they may choose to apply for our Resident II Program for the following school year.
WHAT IS THE RESIDENT I PROGRAM?
A Resident I is a missional leader dedicated to the advancement of the Kingdom by serving with a team of volunteers to reach lost kids. They will be trained and equipped to assist a Site Director at one of our middle or high school campuses. They will be expected to fundraise for the mission, help lead a team of adult leaders, build relationships with students, and assist with partnering with local churches and people seeking to support the vision of YFC.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Applicants must be out of high school and be at least 18 years old to serve in our middle school sites and at least 21 years old to serve in our high school sites as of September 1st of the fall semester.
Applications must be submitted by May 1, 2023.

Track 2
Resident II Program
The Residency Program has a second year track for young leaders that have successfully completed the Resident I Program and where there’s an opportunity for them to lead as a Site Director. However, unlike the Resident I Program, it’s an in-house position; therefore, it’s only available for a current Resident I within SAYFC to apply for.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Resident I Program will meet on Thursdays weekly from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. beginning August 24th at our SAYFC office. Class will include: prayer, training and coaching. Resident II’s will meet on Tuesdays weekly at our office for staff meetings from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and once/month with their YLP Directors.
Fundraising for Resident I’s begins May 15th. Resident I’s will receive $300 from YFC towards their fundraising goal. They can choose to commit 20 or 25 hours/week to the mission. Depending on which they choose, they will need to fundraise:
* $703.20/month (20 hours/week)
* $954.00/month (25 hours/week)
Resident II’s will receive $600 from YFC towards their fundraising goal. They too can choose to commit 20 or 25 hours/week to the mission. Depending on which they choose, they will need to fundraise:
